Multiple linear regression model A multiple linear regression model represents a statistical model that relates one outcome variable called dependent variable to two or more variables called independent variables. In the multiple linear regression model it is assumed that the independent variables "cause" or "explain" the dependent variable.
Examples 1. The management believes that the number of units sold can be explain (at least in part) by the number of dollars invested in advertising, by the price of the product, and by the level of income of the buyers.
Example 2. The cost of production it is believed to depend on the number of units produced, and the prices of factor of production.
