The article “Recognising the Need for Information” (unknown, 2004), allows nurses to self-reflect on their own ideas of what information and knowledge is and the importance of such knowledge. The article outlines that a nurse must see the need for information, address the gap to this information and locate the information to bridge that gap. The practicality of this article for nurses is clear and useful for nurses in our everyday practice. Every year the nurses in New Brunswick must perform CPP or Continuing Competency Programs. The Continuing Competency Programs allow nurses to self reflect and see areas where they lack knowledge or skills. Once those areas are outlined then the nurse must then meet those learning goals that she herself has outlined.
