En el Reino Unido, una grammar school es un centro estatal de
educación secundaria selectiva que proporciona formación especialmente
dirigida a los alumnos que vayan a continuar hasta una formación
universitaria. Normalmente no son centros mixtos y para entrar en ellos se
exige un examen escrito. Debido a la introducción en los años sesenta y
setenta de las comprehensive schools para las que no hace falta una prueba
