Correlation analysis

The correlation between two random variables x and y measures the degree of linear association between both variables.

The coefficient of correlation measures such association and it varies between -1 and +1.

Therefore, a correlation coefficient between x and y of -0.90 says that there is a high inverse linear correlation between those variables.
