Caroline was daughter of William H. Melton and Mary F. Bilyeu. She married about 1877 to Andrew G. Martin. They were the parents of at least 7 children. After Andrew died in 1905 and was buried in Mills Cem., Douglas Co. MO, Caroline lived with her children in MO, ID, and WA. In 1930 she was in Walla Walla with youngest daughter Susan and her husband Thomas Royse.
